The Quartz is a soft, pliable and very comfortable clear silicone shield. It is designed to shelter the eyes from drafts while also keeping the moisture in. Although the Quartz was originally intended for use during sleep, in focus groups, many chronic dry eye patients found themselves wearing them not only at night but also periodically throughout the day for immediate dry eye relief. (Please note, however, that while the optics are good enough for many daytime activities, they are not satisfactory for driving.)
Just like the Onyix, the Quartz is a foamless shield. Unlike the tranquileyes goggle, it cannot be used for moist heat or cold treatments, but it will fog with extended wear to create additional moisture for dry eye patients.
Each kit comes with one clear shield, a microfiber cleaning cloth and a stainless steel travel canister.
