Zeaxanthin-4™ offers macula pigment support that is enhanced with 30 mg of fat-soluble vitamin C.*

From the many carotenoids in the diet, the human retina selectively accumulates only two: zeaxanthin and lutein. The concentration of zeaxanthin and lutein in the macula is so high that they are visible as a dark yellow spot called the macula pigment. Significantly lower macula pigment levels have been found in people with factors known to increase risk for age-related macular degeneration, the most prevalent cause of vision loss in the elderly. Zeaxanthin is suggested in peer-reviewed literature to be the central macula preference over lutein.

Zeaxanthin-4™ is designed as a stand alone formulation, or it may be used by those patients who need more zeaxnathin macula pigment protection than the 4 mg allowed, due to patent protection, in multiple formulations.
